Clinicians at Archways Centre for CBT have received extensive training in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT). All of our clinicians are psychologists or psychological associates registered (or in supervised practice) in Ontario.
Joanna C. McBride
Clinical Director
Psychological Associate
Joanna McBride is a psychological associate registered in Ontario. She conducts individual and group cognitive behaviour therapy for adults with anxiety and depression. She has extensive training and practice in treating anxiety disorders, and has a particular interest in obsessive compulsive disorder and related conditions. Joanna received her undergraduate training in the U.K. and her graduate training in counselling psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology (Toronto), and received additional training in CBT at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Toronto). She founded McBride Psychological Services in 2007 and in 2011 renamed the practice to better reflect the services she and her associates provide. She continues to supervise clinicans who have a strong background in CBT and who are hoping to become registered members of the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
Dr. Chris Watson Clinical Psychologist
Dr Watson is a psychologist registered in Ontario. He conducts individual and group cognitive behaviour therapy for children, adolescents and adults with anxiety and mood disorders. He has extensive training and expertise in treating mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Watson completed his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Waterloo and has received additional clinical training at the Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre in Hamilton, Ontario. Dr. Watson previously worked as a clinical psychologist for the Child and Parent
Resource Institute (LondonOntario), as a school psychologist for the Thames Valley
District School Board (London, Ontario), and as a research analyst for the Clinical
Research Laboratory at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Toronto).
Dr. Kamala M. Shiriyeva Clinical Psychologist (Supervised Practice)
Dr. Kamala M. Shiriyeva is a psychologist (supervised practice), currently fulfilling the
requirements of the College of Psychologists to register in Ontario. She obtained her Ph.D. at
the Baku State University in Azerbaijan, and has received additional training and practice in
Canada. Her diverse clinical interests and desire to provide a range of psychological services
(assessment and treatment) motivated her join the team at Archways Centre for CBT. She has
extensive experience in helping individuals deal with emotional problems related to trauma,
anxiety and mood disorders. She challenges her clients to identify their strengths to gain
resilience when coping with problematic issues. Dr. Shiriyeva uses her training in cognitive-
behaviour therapy to provide clinical care that is based on the needs of each client. She offers therapy in English, Turkish and Azerbaijani.
Susan Hannan Clinic Assistant
Susan joined the team at Archways Centre for CBT in November 2011. She has training as a chiropractic assistant and a wealth of experience in customer service. Her friendly disposition and sense of professionalism makes her an ideal person to be greeting our clients at Archways.
