Do you find yourself obsessing about things that don’t make sense to you? Do you feel driven to perform ‘rituals’ that end up interrupt your day, and ultimately make your anxiety worse? At Archways Centre for CBT, we utilize an evidence-based treatment called Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to help individuals deal with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) in London Ontario. We are a group practice made up of Psychologists and Psychological Associates, all of whom are registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
Whether you are suffering from OCD, trichotillomania, compulsive hoarding, body dysmorphic disorder, tourette’s syndrome, or any other variety of obsessive compulsive spectrum disorders, we will provide a confidential and supportive environment for your sessions of CBT. One of the foundations of our practice is a commitment to individualized treatment plans, based upon a discussion with you during your first meeting with us. We want to hear about where you are now, and where you would like to be in the future, identifying your specific needs and goals related to OCD and OC Spectrum Disorders.
With this information, we’ll work with you to determine whether group or individual therapy would be most beneficial, as well as whether weekly or bi-weekly sessions would work best with your goals in mind. Since CBT is a short-term approach to dealing with psychological issues, you can expect to spend between 6-20 sessions with us. However, we won’t simply treat you with “talk therapy” and let you go. We will provide you with the tools you need to practice CBT in your daily home and work environment, allowing us to help you to monitor your progress throughout the program.
We want to change the way you feel and act for the better, and offer flexible scheduling opportunities to ensure you are able to visit with us as time allows. We have appointments in the morning, afternoon, and evening, with no referral necessary. You may find that some of the fees paid at McBride Psychological Services can be reimbursed if you have an extended health insurance plan. Our convenient downtown location also offers free onsite parking for our clients.
Allow us to help you understand the interaction between your feelings, thoughts, and behaviour, and break the debilitating cycle of obsessive compulsive disorder. Serving London Ontario and surrounding area, please give us a call if you would like more information on how CBT can help you to promote change.
